Who We Are
The admissions policy at Hapy Days Day Nursery incorporates the equal opportunities policy. No parent / carer will be discriminated against registration at nursery. Admission will be on a first come / first served basis.
Parent Partnership and Settling in Policy
The nursery staff will work in partnership with all parents / carers to settle the child into the new environment.
Initial nursery visits will be arranged to familiarise your child with both nursery setting and our dedicated staff.
During the first few visits, parents / carers are welcome to stay with your child for sufficient time, so that your child feels settled and you feel comfortable to leave them.
The arrangement can continue until your child feels comfortable within the nursery.
The nursery team will work together and also work with the parents / carers to provide the best quality care for your child.
All parents / carers are welcome to call into the nursery during the working day, to discuss their child / childrens progress. A copy of the nurseries policies and procedures are available at any time.
We have a suggestions book in the reception area for any comments or suggestions you may have.
We aim to be supportive and have a friendly relationship with all parents / carers and children.
Our Nursery Provides
Meal times within the setting are at 9:45, 11:45, 13:45 and 15:45. We are happy to cater for children with cultural or dietry requirements and will work closely with the parents / carers to ensure this is done correctly. At meal times all children are positively encouraged to wash their hands prior to eating and resume good table manners, whilst being independent and making their own choices. For the babies, all staff work in partnership with parents, in regards to feeding preferences as babies tend to be fed on demand and / or may have a bottle of milk. All children’s individual needs are always met throughout mealtimes, with access to water, milk or juice.
We have 5 stars for excellent food hygiene.
Excellent security measures including our password policy and asking for photographic ID when somebody new is collecting a child. All parents / carers are asked to sign their child in and out of the nursery for safety reasons. All visitors are required to complete our visitor book and adhere to our mobile phone policy, as well as our members of staff doing so. No mobile phones are to be used in the nursery, to meet with current legislation and safety measures.
We have a large, secure outdoor play area which offers both grassed and bark areas, including a seating area for outdoor learning opportunities. We encourage the children to use the garden all year round, wearing appropriate clothing, this is optional for children. We provide a wide range of equipment, which includes a digging area, role play, den making, reading area, water area plus much much more. Our garden is all fenced off with a gate, which is locked between the garden and the building for extra security.
Our staff are all fully qualified practitioners and each have an enhanced DBS (Disclosure Barring Service). All staff are given a thorough induction, with clear guidelines of our high expectations. In addition, the nursery is commited to continuous staff training, therefore keeping knowledge and skills up to date. Happy Days Day Nursery employment criteria is that staff must also ascertain Paediatric First Aid, food safety, child protection level 1 and health and safety which are each replenished every three years.
