Summer Term 2022 Newsletter
We will look forward to welcoming all our children back after the Easter holidays. If you have any pictures or stories your child would like to share at circle time, please post these on Tapestry, we look forward to hearing about your adventures. Thank you.
Welcomes:
Children: We would like to welcome the 12 new children who have started in the caterpillar room, 2 new children in the butterfly room and 6 new children in the preschool room, we look forward to getting to know you and sharing adventures together.
Staff: We would like to welcome Denise who joined us in the Pre school room within the last weeks. Denise is a qualified practitioner with many years of experience.
We would also like to Welcome Chloe who will be joining our team in May. Chloe will be our new nursery apprentice Chloe has wanted to work in Childcare for a few years, so she is thrilled to be joining us.
We will be posting weekly photos of your Child and nursery activities on Facebook. If you wish to withdraw permission for your child’s photos to be posted on social media, please email the nursery.
If you would like to join our Private parents Facebook page, please let management know and they can a send the link via email.
Spring/Summer weather
If the weather is going to be warm, please apply the first application of sun cream at home and bring the sun cream to nursery with your child’s name on the bottle.
We do recommend Children wear ‘once’ sun cream as this only needs to be applied every 8 hours.
Reminder to bring a sun hat or cap too – please label with your child’s name inside.
Outdoor shoes
As the Summer weather approaches polite reminder, please ensure your child is wearing suitable and stable footwear to play in the garden, no croc shoes and with open toe sandals socks must be worn, Thank you.
Indoor shoes
Please provide slippers or plimsolls for your child to wear inside the nursery in case the fire alarm should ring and we need to evacuate the building quickly.
Birthdays: Happy Days would like to wish a very Happy Birthday to all the Children and Staff celebrating their Birthdays in April, May, June and July.
Health & safety
Please do not let your child play in the carpark or around the nursery ground, it is paramount we teach children the dangers of playing in public areas. Please follow the nursery road safety tips.
Fee Payments
All nursery fees MUST be paid and cleared by 08:00 on the last day of the month. This includes all methods of payment. For example, vouchers and Tax Free Childcare need to be paid at least 5 working days before payment is due. We are receiving several payments late. Please note there is an automatic fee from the 1st of the month of £15 for every 7 days your invoice is overdue this fee will be automatically added to your next invoice.
What should I have in my bag………?
Every child should bring:
* wipes
* Spare outfits including a top, bottoms, socks and pants
(minimum 2 sets, more if your child is toilet training)
* Appropriate outdoor clothing
If applicable, please send:
* nappies / pull ups
* Daily diary
* Bottles & formula
* Comforters
If your child borrows clothes from nursery, please can you make sure you return them as soon as possible.
Sickness
If your child shows any signs of being unwell, please keep them off nursery. This is to stop it from spreading to other children and staff.
If your child is on prescription medication, they must be well within themselves to attend nursery otherwise they will be sent home. Childs medication will only be accepted at the Managers discretion.
Attendance
If your child will not be attending nursery, please notify the nursery as soon as possible either by email or telephone.

Tuesday 19th April 2022 – Funding restarts
We look forward to welcoming the children back to nursery and hearing about their adventures over the Easter holidays
Monday 23rd may – Wednesday 1st June 2022 – Celebrations for the Platinum Jubilee. Children will be taking part in celebration activities and games and can wear England colours.
Tuesday 28th June 2022 – Parent’s Evening
This is an opportunity to speak to your child’s key person and discuss their development and how they are doing at nursery. Please ensure you book an appointment (10 mins) as it is a very popular evening and times fill up quickly.
We also value comments and suggestions from parents, in the reception area we will have a comment/suggestion box for parents and visitors to use.
Funding finishes on Friday 27th May until Monday 6th Jun 2022.
Nursery Closed Bank Holidays
Good Friday 15th 2022 Bank Holiday – CLOSED
Easter Bank Holiday Monday 18th April 2022 – CLOSED
May Day Bank Holiday Monday 2nd May 2022 – CLOSED
Spring Bank Holiday Thursday 2nd June 2022 – CLOSED
Platinum Jubilee Bank holiday Friday 3rd June 2022 – CLOSED
August Bank Holiday Monday 29th August 2022 – CLOSED
If your Child attends on a Bank Holiday, you can request to change this day to another day of the same week, so your Child does not miss any sessions.
Pre-school Graduation/Sports day – Thursday 14th July
Funding ends on Friday 15th July 2022 until September.
Drop off and collection:
We will continue to collect and drop off children at the door, we have found this has had a better impact on children’s behaviour.
Parents are welcome to wait in the reception area, please let staff know you would like to wait inside, especially if it is raining. Only two parents at any one time.
Happy Days Day Nursery has an open door policy, if you have any questions please speak to management, we are always happy to help.
If you would like to speak to your Child’s keyperson in private please let us know and this can be arranged.
